 <Rain Day>
临危受命，讲演俱乐部缺英文祝酒词的人(Toastmaster)，让我救场。我本想出题：春（Spring）。被告知上次用过了（我去滑雪不在场）。看着外面细雨纷纷。灵机一动以春雨命题（Rain Day）。参考孙伊斌的散文诗 <冬 雨> （见 散文诗 Poetry in Prose）和杜甫的<春夜喜雨>，我草写下这篇英文祝酒词，贴出来与大家分享.

(The Theme for today’s meeting is - Rain Day)
(All stand) Thank you Toastmaster, fellow masters, and welcome guests.
Rain Day
After seeing white snow for several months, I ask myself what is the sign of a real spring.
Not flowers, not sprouts nor young leaves on the trees, they are too late.
It should be a rain day, a real rain day.
A good, lovable rain is smart knowing when it should come in.
It should be starting at the midnight, and stopping in the morning.
It is moistening soil with no sound, and bringing a soft wind.
The spring rain is lovely due to its gentle and sweet;
not like a summer storm with a violence style trying to destroy everything;
not like a autumn rain lingering out several more days;
not like a winter freezing rain, cold, heartless, and unfriendly for a car driver.
In the spring rain, you don’t need a rain coat, just walking along the trail, licking your lips to taste the spring benevolence.
The only regret I have is my seasonal ski pass, which becomes worthless so early and ending its life in the garage can.
