funny I hear blacks
coming my way and feel warm
crossing tokyo streets

Are you in Japan now? Then it is quite apt to write a haiku. True, anything from the place where you once lived will arouse a warm feeling when it is seen in a foreign land. |

on 2nd thought, America is unique because of its blacks,
not because of whites. this uniqueness is getting more
and more obvious in American History as time moves
along. I don't feel homesick when hearing whites speaking
English, but did so when it's blacks. Interesting? |

I was wondering why you used "hear" instead of "see". Now I know why. |

also, to me hearing meant (carry such effect) a past memory approaching,
seeing or sighting meant a vision present or into the future
I prefer hear here even both arrived at about the same time
while I was waiting and crossing streets.
