高处的风车

I only dissect
A single thin slice—
In a state of confrontation
With the Aarhus Cathedral in the city center
The windmills on the heights
In the chaos of the wind, complete
The most perfect interpretation and disintegration
Of time and space
The Botanical Garden
Is a spatial model such as this—
It takes the earth’s surface
Strictly by latitude and temperature
Cutting it
Into perfectly symmetrical climatic zones
You cannot help but turn into a butterfly, traversing
The polar ice caps
The frigid tundra
The subarctic coniferous forests
The temperate deciduous broad-leaved forests
The subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forests
The tropical rainforests, and the Sahara Desert
In search of distinct
Ecological communities
Take one more step forward
And you fall into the Old Town (Den Gamle By)
A time machine such as this—
The markets, the towns, the old houses
