千枚岩层
所历经的挤压，变质，风化
渗透出
铁锈的血红
锂原子的天青
钠原子的雪白
铜的孔雀绿
金的纯黄——
滋养着
火草，蓝莓，剑草
编织起五光与十色
引诱来的动物——
棕熊，黑熊，驯鹿，驼鹿，山羊，
土拨鼠，北极地松鼠，北极火狐
来此偷吃
彼此狩猎，掠夺，交配，繁殖
胃口最大
当属重达两千磅的驼鹿
站在食物链最顶端的
是我
走遍每一条步道
每一寸土
寻求生命最热烈的状态——
超越森林的上限，还不够
超越植被的上限，还不够
超越冰雪的上限，还不够
超越生命的上限，还不够！
汲取的颜色，养料
被一记北极光击中
完成大作

runs arrow-straight.
Even the aspens and green pines,
the golden autumn, the blue sky, and white clouds,
can no longer bear
the one hundred million tons of pigment
upon Denali's peaks.
A six-million-acre
canvas hanging from the heavens.
A collision of oil painting techniques—
The flawless symmetry of Ancient Greece,
the rigor of medieval religious motifs,
the intensity of the Gothic,
the obscurity of the Impressionists,
the abstraction of the Cubists,
all violently clash.
A grizzly bear of Fauvism
tears into Van Gogh’s left ear,
blood dripping, fresh and raw—
A scream from the Cambrian, five hundred million years ago—
the phyllite strata
enduring compaction, metamorphism, and weathering.
Oozing out
the rusty crimson of iron,
the celestial azure of lithium atoms,
the snow-white of sodium atoms,
the peacock green of copper,
the pure yellow of gold—
Nourishing
the fireweed, blueberries, and sawgrass,
weaving a tapestry of brilliant hues.
Lured here, the animals—
grizzlies, black bears, caribou, moose, mountain goats,
marmots, Arctic ground squirrels, Arctic foxes
come to steal a meal,
hunting, plundering, mating, and breeding among themselves.
The grandest appetite of all
belongs to the two-thousand-pound moose.
Standing at the absolute apex of this food chain
is me,
walking every single trail,
treading every inch of earth.
Seeking the most burning state of existence—
To surpass the timberline is not enough,
To surpass the vegetation limit is not enough,
To surpass the snowline is not enough,
To surpass the upper limit of life itself is not enough!
The colors and nutrients absorbed
are struck by a flash of the aurora borealis,
completing the masterpiece
with a brilliant, blood-red seal.

悬浮于北极的虚空
垂天而落，遗世独立

尖牙利嘴咬住凡高的一只耳朵
鲜血淋淋……
我听见
来自寒武纪五亿年前的尖叫——
千枚岩层所历经的挤压，变质，风化，
渗透出

铜的孔雀绿
金的纯黄……
不同元素燃烧所构成的颜料的火海
滋养着不同种属的植物
我认识的有火草，蓝莓，剑草
以基因链条的生命符号所编绎
五光十色的生命交响曲
引诱来无数的动物
沿途所遭遇的
有棕熊，黑熊，驯鹿，驼鹿，Dall Sheep山羊，土拨鼠，北极地松鼠，北极火狐，……
来此偷吃颜料，彼此狩猎，掠夺，交配，繁殖
其中，胃口最大的是重达两千磅的驼鹿
而，站在食物链最顶端的我
走尽了花园的每一条路径每一尺
研究完生命状态的每一个角度每一寸
超越森林的上线，还不够
超越植被的上线，还不够
超越冰雪的上线，还不够
超越生命的上线，还不够！
当我从所有的岩石，泥土，植物，和低等动物
汲取颜色，养料，灵气，生命和灵魂的因子
从低级，中级，高级
直至大圆满
上穷碧落下黄泉
超越自我
超越超人
无限接近于神一般的存在
在即将完成沾沾自喜之际
忽然，被一记不知何来的北极光击中
解体成了一滩鲜红的血印
我就此化为颜料的一部分
盖在画布的右下角
