中医的“四物汤”是补血、养血的经典药方,由当归、川芎、芍药、生地四味药组成。方中以熟地黄滋肾补血,以养胞宫,用为主药;肝肾同源,肾虚则肝血亦虚,故辅以当归补血养肝,和血调经;再以白芍养血和阴、川芎活血行气,畅通之血,使补而不滞,营血调和,均为佐使药。四药合用,具有补血调血的作用,故用于血虚血滞之证,妇女月经不调、痛经尤为多用。
孙中山先生的“四物汤”, 是集四种素食之精华而成,即用黄花菜、木耳、豆腐、豆芽这四种食物。此"四物汤"中的黄花菜又名金针,含有丰富的维生素A、纤维素和铁。它具有利水、凉血等功效,又能健胃、补脾、通便。木耳在《神农本草经》中列为中品,它具有养血、活血、收敛等作用,对于血痢、痔疮、产后虚弱、崩漏、带下等患者,都是良好的食品。木耳富含蛋白质和多种维生素及钙、磷、铁等物质。豆腐与豆芽是我国发明的豆制品,具有价廉物美、营养丰富的特点。它们不仅完全保留了黄豆中所含的蛋白质、脂肪、维生素等营养成分,而且更容易被人体吸收利用。黄花菜、木耳、豆腐、豆芽四物,具有素食的最大优点。
