A thing is done worse or better
Go not for a judge or a fortune teller.
Just look up the heaven
and study the weather.

Since the Sailing Olympic
Winds have accompanied every meal.
Rains have kept watch each sleep.
The firmament has offered tents here and there,
The sky has given showers
when waves are getting tougher.

For the athletes
for the guests
for the audiences
for the volunteers
for the officials

To refresh your spirits
to peace your minds
to protect your energies
to strengthen your strength
to care for your skins

Hello, foreign friends!
You are welcome!
Athletes and friends the world over,
How you are strenuous and laborious!
Your arrival has for seven years kept
the peninsular city waiting and buzzing.

But the God is sometimes severe.
To test the citizen’s sincerity,
The moss is sent here first as an inspector.
With the imperial confidence and power,
It is regarded not as a disaster but as a trainer.
The PLA men, as troops from the heaven, came to aid.
Brave, courageous hard and devoted
They make new the title the people most beloved.

The college students remain here in campus
Vie with one another to be volunteers.
They were glad at the moss coming.
A mission is at last placed on their shoulders
to do something useful to serve the nation.

And they have got a chance once again
to prove to the nation and the heaven
their purity, innocence and their clean
instead of being driven home as an unstable factor
during the yearly summer vacation.

As a matter of fact,
Among the guests and the hosts,
the students are the first to visit and stay.
They hail from all corners of the country.
They come above all not for university itself
but for the world-famous coastal city.
They make their entrance first of all for the Olympic
and then a successful taste of Tsingtao Beer.
