約克區將首次開辦國語警政培訓班

The York Regional Police is hosting the Police and Community Education Seminars (P.A.C.E.S.) in the Mandarin language starting March 19, 2008. They are inviting the Chinese/Mandarin Community to attend and participate in this program. Please extend this invitation to those who might want to develop their career in Policing or new immigrants who want to know what support and protection they can expect from the Police.

This program will give them the opportunity to get to understand what the York Regional Police do and how they can be part of the Force. This program is specially develop in Mandarin for the Mandarin speaking Chinese.

The P.A.C.E.S. Program (Police and Community Education Seminar) conducted in Mandarin will be held:-

Date: Starting March 19, 2008, Every Wednesday for 5 weeks

Time: 7:00pm to 9:00pm

Place: Metro Square at Unit 302-3636 Steeles Avenue East, Markham, Ontario, Room 205

Speakers: 屆時來自約克區警隊各部門的資深警官和文職工作人員等

Content: 約克區警隊歷史、警員日常工作、毒品和風化罪, 搶劫犯罪、槍械和幫派犯罪、約克區警政委員會、警員招聘等

Eligibility: All Citizens, especially for those who speaks Mandarin
由於課程涉及一些警方內務資料，因此需要對參訓學員作背景調查，以確定其沒有犯罪記錄。

Advantages:
1. 對於一些以後希望投考警察的居民來說，這是一個很好的幾會來了解警隊運作，可以和警隊各方面的專家面對面互動交流。如果能夠堅持學習最終獲得結業證書，這對未來投考警員也是一個很好的輔助經驗證明。

2. 當然，即使沒有報考警隊計劃，作為一般居民了解警察的作業，可以更好地和警方溝通，對預防犯罪一定會有所幫助
