to accept all coming your way,
acceptance meaning joy and sorrow,
patience, love increased from suffering,
total resignation every moment that you lived.
How you look down upon us—our
one blue dot—circling sun and moon
day after day, generation after generation,
eons forward, now since Creation
giving us a place to go, for mercy to show.
Spread your mantle round our globe,
spread your grace, our help to solve,
fill our hearts, every race, all
us humans with hope and love,
who live here, despite war, give us peace.
