Leaves and buds 111207 130102
Shivering
and flapping wildly
in the piercing wind
the brown leaves
ragged and torn
hold fast
onto the half-stripped branches
to nurture
with the very last breath
the birth of the tiny buds --
so delicate
yet composed
whose fragrance
consoles
even the worst frostbitten souls |
