一位非洲妇女三十几岁只有小学文化程度三个孩子还有一个患艾滋病的丈夫后来在美国的一项支助非洲计划中得到帮助全家迁到美国该妇女在美国大学读书但贫困没有收入使这个家庭举步维艰后在美国民众的帮助下妇女全家生活有所好转但不久那有暴力的丈夫去逝但妇女没放弃读书计划她一边读书一边工作在四十多岁时获得了博士学位她获得了一份十分体面的工作还找了一位大学教授的丈夫她的故事被各大媒体传颂成了一位远近闻名的励志人物（浙江、叶英儿）
