Kaiku 13. The Shape of Haiku

2010-01-11 10:50:03

This time concentrate on the shape of the haiku. Because we don't often write in 5/7/5 any more, sometimes we still wish to adhere to the shape of a haiku:
line 1: short
line 2: long
line 3: short

Keep in mind:

1) juxtaposition
2) vivid images
3) Phrase and fragment theory.
4) shape: the second line is the longest one.

snow dunes
on the roof of my house
sagging spruce

icycle drips
chase one after another
children in spring

ice dams
thick on the eaves
sagging spruce

Lake This works very well, the comparison of the roof and it's strength under the snow, and the spruce tree.-azure85
