R.S.托马斯（Ronald Stuart Thomas，1913-2000），威尔士诗坛泰斗，二十世纪最强硬，最纯洁，最持久的抒情诗人之一。

他一生创作丰厚，多次获得各种诗歌奖项，包括女王诗歌金奖。他的诗歌创作大致可以分为两个阶段，七十年代以前的诗作主要是关于威尔士的乡民与风光，历史与文化，以及他们自己做牧师的体验。从七十年代起诗人与“隐身上帝”的对话，探索人类内在的精神世界，所以他又有当代最伟大的宗教诗人之称。其诗风与人一样孤傲，严谨洗练，硬朗不屈，在英诗坛独具一格。

Ronald Stuart Thomas (29 March 1913 – 25 September 2000), published as R. S. Thomas, was a Welsh poet and Anglican priest who was noted for his nationalism, spirituality and dislike of the anglicisation of Wales. John Betjeman, in his 1955 introduction to Song at the Year's Turning, the first collection of Thomas's poetry from a major publisher, predicted that Thomas would be remembered long after he himself was forgotten. M. Wynn Thomas said: "He was the Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn of Wales because he was such a troubler of the Welsh conscience. He was one of the major English language and European poets of the 20th century."
