《采绿》抒写丈夫外出逾期不归，归人思念的感情。诗从采草写起，而终日不盈一匊或一襜，借以心不在焉，写思念之深的忘形幽怨。正见其情意之深，所以才会“五日为期”、“六日不詹”，仅迟一日，已是如隔三秋。于是自然生发出以下想象归来后的情景，日夜陪伴、倡随的快乐。而两相对照，想象愈美，现实愈苦，这才是更见思念的强烈，渴望的深远，这种以虚写实的手法，有时更比如实的刻划更有神韵和诗意。
