钤传:《乌有之敌,答客难》

书生尝临香光居士《答客难》一贴,至日暮,
案积墨色,砚生落日。不觉酣卧。
夜深,醒而燃兰膏,忽然一缁衣人
头戴箬笠以覆面,坐于书然近前,
不禁骇然。持灯曰:“汝何人也?”来者答曰:

“自灯中来,往月中去。夫书法者,
寸墨之间,方家辈出,龙游凤起,如沧海珠。
晋之二王,近者,盛唐狂草与颜柳之楷并立,
宋有苏黄米蔡,元有松雪道人,此诸家均不习,
独爱董氏墨迹三十年,何故?”书生

起身轻唤,只见一斑斓猛虎自后院而入。
目似青萤,毛如春韭,盘坐灯下,如有禅心。
“此虎能知文意。”置《兰亭序》于案,只见猛虎
嗅之而黯然出门,望月而泣。曰:“盖其
知山水须臾,风月常新也。”客惊,乃将《祭侄稿》
携出大门,令虎阅之。虎啸而星月如血,

墙颓泉响。曰:“知此文悲愤壮烈也。”
客笑曰:“请为阅《答客难》,便知何故嗜之。”
虎以其须触之,转而望二人,呼气
将灯吹熄。“董墨润朗如青玉,有淡泊之意;
而东方朔之文,以忧愤之心,斥子虚之敌,
铰剪镜花,箭射水月,二者本有异同。

虎不知何以论之,便吹灯而走。”书生
重燃油灯,却不见客踪。案上惟有八尺长宣
似素衣袅然风中。“此不速之客,
亦子虚之敌耶?”
