Dawn and dusk,
you catty ministers of the sly emperor,
conspiring with one another,
How much have you confessed and covered?
I don’t see it is cloudy today
until morning turns around.

Obviously, you are benefactors as day
that renders us our food and shelter.
The tired you give repose.
The impatient you lend peace.
The pregnant you offer your kindness.
To the haggard, the ugly and the shabby,
You hold up a mirror in which is reflected a beauty.

But for those who are already awakening,
You are still adopting the old policy
of keeping the ordinary in ignorance.
For thirty years my doors have been open.
And I am a student in the English department.
Why I have no right to watch the programs from the BBC?

It must be a joke or a mistake.
Sometime about twenty years ago,
In the air were four channels of the Phoenix, Hong Kong.
Yet they shut down later one by one.
The last scene that impressed me most
was a football match live broadcast.
How humorous and ridiculous it was!
To consult with an English professor,
Can a fan make the match fully realized.

Last night I was overexcited at the Olympic Games.
How I wanted to know how many of the black,
of the white, of the red, of the brown,
and of the yellow abroad were as cheerful as I was.
I longed as I failed.
Morning came to remind me of that.
And this so I write.
