Chinese Canadian 150 years Culture Online Project
Building on the success of the Chinese Canadian Culture Online Project ( www.ccnc.ca/cccop), and Asian Canadian Culture Online Project ( www.ccnc.ca/accop), the Chinese Canadian National Council (CCNC) is now launching a call for submissions for the Chinese Canadian 150 years Culture Online Project.
The Chinese Canadian community has a rich history dating back to 1788 (some say even earlier). In 1858, a sustained migration of Chinese to Canada helped to establish our continuous community for the past 150 years. We are currently seeking creative writings, music and videos originated by Chinese Canadian from across the country that speak to this theme of 150 years of continuous community. We welcome submissions from Chinese Canadian youth.
We want your stories on rediscovering your roots, relationships, fighting racism, and identity. Tell your stories and let us build a stronger voice for the Chinese Canadian community!
Tell us about your experiences of being a Chinese Canadian. Write about an important part of Chinese Canadian history as experienced by your family. Share your creative works of music and video . This exciting national project aims to showcase the history, experiences, contributions and talents of the Chinese Canadian community and will be launched in spring 2008.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Anthology: short stories/essays/poetry/spoken word/other (Max 1500 words)
