				| 41 the dividing line
 between evil and virtue
 is thin as a hair

 42
 'round a mad cow's arse
 a cowboy waved his lasso
 caught quiet - sundown

 43
 lovers leave their marks
 on the path they walk
 uneroded prints

 44
 turn off life support -
 a heartbroken decision
 the family mourns

 45
 a cell is cloned
 before a cellular shutdown.
 who on earth am I?

 46
 afraid of the dark,
a child cries. The moon climbs up -
 silvery moonlight.

 47
 fish jumping for flies
frogs diving for fun, splish! splash!
 fireflies light the night

 48
 nothing's what it seems
 all's what people imagine
 thus, legends and myths

 49
 morning tiptoes in
 to find the bed empty
 farmers in the fields

 50
 the train's always late
to learn is never too late
 joy in late autumn

 (half way through)

'Could you please paste the original Haiku on(in Japanse)?
If there is only English version to read, perhaps it is more difficult for the readers to understand to the full extent the 'Zen' that has grown up in a Japanese circumstance.
I remember to have attended lectures of Japanese literature during my university life, when I readed a lot about Haiku.
In my opinion, Haiku is far different from ancient-style poetry or Sonnet,
so I advise you to put the Japanese version by the English ones so we can understand what difference the Japanese culture had made in those poems.'

				| I think Lake is writing his own English Haiku, namely in a short-long-short pattern (not necessarily 5-7-5). _________________

 Wow, yinxiaoyuan also knows Japanese.
Like 戴玨 said these are my original English Haiku, or can I say modern Haiku?
Who would like to translate them into Japanese?

Agree with Kokho about the origin of Haiku and Zen, and the acceptance by the western countries.

				| The style of haiku we learnt was traditional ones, each of them includes a 'sesonal word'(季語)
It is said to be an indispensable part of traditional Haiku.
I don't know much about modern ones.
 If you want them translated,
you could visit some websites or forums held by Japanese Haiku Organizations, there must be some people who are good at it.

 Kokho,

Thanks for refreshing the essence of Haiku.

 I can't believe it I have a hundred done.
Do you still want me to ride them over for you to see?
