夜游密西根湖

从摩天楼的顶层伸手摘星
应该不会太难
但多半，我猜
是星星们自己走下来
为这华丽的一哩
锦上添花

在巧夺天工的玻璃窗口欣欣炫耀
或在无人一顾的天空默默暗淡
没有比这更现实的选择

船到马康密克场便掉头了
再过去是黑人区
黑黝黝
没什么看头

附注：华丽的一哩(The Magnificent Mile或称The Miracle Mile)指密西根大道 的
一段，为芝加哥湖滨的黄金地带，世界上最壮观的高楼大厦在此林立。
马康密克场(McCormick Place)为工业品展览场所。

Standing on top of a skyscraper
one can no doubt pick the stars with ease
yet from here it seems more likely
that the stars descend from the sky themselves
to decorate the Magnificent Mile

Shining bright in the fabulous windows
or growing pale in the darkening sky—
what a choice
Near McCormick Place the ship turns around
farther down are ghettos
pitch-dark
not much to see
