牛的悲哀

是不能拖着犁

在柏油的街上耕耘

让城市的孩子们

了解收获的意义



牛的悲哀

是明明知道

它憨直的眼睛

无法把原属星星月亮的少年

从霓虹的媚眼里引开

［鉴赏］

什么是牛的悲哀？

“牛的悲哀，是不能拖着犁，在柏油的街上耕耘，让城市的孩子们，了解收获的意义。”

是的，正是柏油大街，现代文明的产物之一，带来了牛的悲哀。

什么是牛的悲哀？

“牛的悲哀，是明明知道，它憨直的眼睛，无法把原属星星月亮的少年，从霓虹的媚眼里引开。”

是的，“霓虹的媚眼”，就是霓虹的魅惑——成人尚抵挡不住，况少年乎？

“原属星星月亮的少年”——何其天真浪漫的少年——随着都市化的进程，早已不再。

他们，已被那“霓虹的媚眼”牢牢勾住，身不由己。

牛的形象，自然是憨厚朴实、任劳任怨的劳动者的形象。

看着“城市的孩子们”无法“了解收获的意义”，牛，无能为力，甚感悲哀。

看着“原属星星月亮的少年”被“霓虹的媚眼”勾去，牛，只能瞪着“憨直的眼睛”感叹：欲回天，而乏力。

牛的悲哀，正是人类的悲哀；

牛的悲哀，正是当代社会的悲哀。

英译：

for the cows, the saddest thing is that they cannot plough and cultivate the asphalt roads, to make the city kids understand the meaning of harvest.

for the cows, the saddest thing is they know too well that their honest and straight-looking eyes cannot lure away the youths of moon and stars from the seductive eyes of the neon lamps.

与汉语相较，可知如下变化：

其一，“牛的悲哀”对应英文for the cows, the saddest thing（对于牛来说，最为悲哀的事情），当属深化译法。

其二，“拖着犁”，英文用动词plough出之，简洁而到位；

其三，动词“让”，英文以make出之，而代之以let, 更显地道；

其四，“明明知道”，对应英文know too well, 变通而佳。

其五，“憨直的眼睛”，对应英文honest and straight-looking eyes; “原属星星月亮的少年”对应the youths of moon and stars;“霓虹的媚眼”对应英文the seductive eyes of the neon lamps, 可谓直而译之。

应该不是译吧。可能作为英汉双语版来鉴赏更准确些？

开始对 "lure" 的用法有些疑惑。“ seductive eyes”和 “lure” 是 match的。 “honest and straight-looking eyes ” 和“lure”用在一起，似乎不匹配。 但之前加了“cannot", 那就对了。
