[Lake]

This may not be regarded as a poem for it is just out of an impulse when I received a personal message from Nia, a Turkish poet friend who I miss very much. So I penned it down without much refinement.

PM

If it were not for that wake-up call
She would’ve been still in hibernation
For how long
She really does not know
If it were not for that wake-up call
She would've been still wandering around
For how far
She really does not know

But that personal message
Such a sweet, tender reminder
Popping up “how have you been?”
Lights up a gloomy day
Electrifies her still heart
A lone bird trailed behind
Now goes “flap, flap, flap”
Over tree tops, up again
Into the bosom of the sky
