　　号则堂，眉山（今属四川）人。以荫补官，累官知常州，迁浙东提点刑狱，入为大理少卿。咸淳八年（1272），权知绍兴府、浙东安抚提举司事。德祐初，权户部侍郎兼知临安府、浙西安抚使，迁户部侍郎，权侍右侍郎，兼枢密都承旨。二年（1276），赐进士出身，拜端明殿学士、签书枢密院事。元兵次近郊，丞相贾馀庆、吴坚檄天下守令以城降，铉翁独不署。奉使元营，留馆中。宋亡，守志不仕。元成宗即位（1294），放还，赐号处士，时年八十二，后数年以寿终。《宋史》有传。有《则堂集》六卷，《彊村丛书》辑为《则堂诗馀》一卷。
