　　明仁宗朱高炽（1378年－1425年），明成祖长子，其母为仁孝文皇后。徐达外孙。
　　
　　生平
　　自幼端重沉静，因体胖而行动迟缓，明太祖欣赏其才。洪武二十八年（1395年）被册封为燕世子，后守卫北平。成祖即位后立为皇太子。永乐二十二年（1424年）即位，次年改元为洪熙，登基后赦免了建文帝的旧臣和永乐朝时遭连坐流放边境的官员家属。明仁宗随父征战多年，知道创业很难，重用户部尚书夏元吉，命杨荣、杨士奇、杨溥三人辅政，采取了一系列减少国家开支的措施，对国力的恢复发展起到一定的作用。
　　
　　他在位期间，他褒奖直言，虚怀纳谏，减轻刑法，对开封、山东等地赈灾免粮。用人，行政均得后人称善。他一即位，即决定将首都迁回南京，以免漕运的巨大花费。体弱多病的洪熙皇帝，登基后从政仅8个月，就一病不起，于洪熙元年（1425年）因心脏病五月崩于钦安殿，庙号仁宗。葬于明献陵（今北京昌平）。朱高炽虽庙号“仁宗”，但延续了太祖、成祖的殉葬制度，死时生殉5名妃嫔[1]。
